GPS Interface (NMEA 0183) downloads LAT/LON from the Vessel's on board GPS every 20 minutes as allowed; upon activation GPS coordinates accompany the 406 MHz signal reducing the time it takes the proper authorities to locate your position. GPS position is accurate to 100 m (110 yds), optimum allowed by COSPAS-SARSAT. Patented proprietary electronics package provides greater frequency stability for most accurate position through the LEOSAR satellites. Full functional self test checks internal circuitry, battery voltage, confirms GPS data. Cross Dipole Right Hand Circular Polarized antenna provides optimal signal strength.
